AKG has been making microphones in Vienna since 1947, and the C414 is on the short list of microphones that turn up on professional sessions everywhere. Pro Audio Brands is an authorised AKG dealer in India.

Microphones. The C414 XLS gives you nine polar patterns, three filters and three pad settings — which in practice means one microphone that will handle a vocal, a piano, a drum overhead and a guitar cabinet without apology. The C214 is the single-pattern, cardioid-only version at roughly half the outlay, using the same one-inch capsule family. The P220 is the sensible first large-diaphragm condenser for a home studio.

Headphones. The K52, K72 and K92 are the closed-back budget line, and they are genuinely good for the price — the K92's 40mm drivers do more than the cost suggests. The K361 and K371 are the newer foldable studio models, tuned closer to the Harman target, which is why they measure well and are comfortable for long sessions.
