AKG P220 Large-Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone

The AKG P220 is a large diaphragm true condenser microphone with a cardioid pattern, 20 mV/Pa sensitivity and 16 dB(A) self noise, handling 135 dB SPL, or 155 dB with its -20 dB pad.

Vocals and loud instruments from one microphone

Low self noise of 16 dB(A) and 20 mV/Pa sensitivity suit quiet sources such as vocals and acoustic guitar. The -20 dB pad raises the maximum level from 135 dB to 155 dB, so the same microphone handles a guitar amplifier, brass or a close snare without distorting.

Bass cut

A switchable bass cut filter rolls off low frequencies at 12 dB per octave. It removes rumble from the stand and floor and reduces the boom that builds up when a singer works close to the microphone.

Cardioid pickup

The cardioid pattern picks up mainly from the front, rejecting sound from behind. Point the rear of the microphone at the noisiest part of the room, such as a computer fan or a window.
