Yamaha MGP24X vs MGP32X: Which Mixing Console to Buy in India

Yamaha MGP24X and MGP32X analog mixing consoles side by side on a stage table

The Yamaha MGP24X and MGP32X are analog mixing consoles with a DSP Hybrid Channel section for reverb, effects, auto-ducker and auto-leveler. They share the same preamps, EQ and effects. The only real difference is how many inputs you get and how much table space you need. This guide shows both side by side.

Quick answer

  • A band, a venue or a house of worship with up to 16 microphones: the Yamaha MGP24X.
  • A full band, a choir or a conference panel with up to 24 microphones: the Yamaha MGP32X.

How to choose

Choose on input count. Count every microphone, instrument and playback source you will plug in at once, then add spare channels. The processing, preamps and effects are the same on both consoles, so the larger one does not sound different. It simply handles more sources on one surface without submixing. Plan the table or flight case around the size: the MGP32X is 42 lbs and 40.4 by 22.2 inches.

What auto-ducker does

Auto-ducker lowers the music automatically when a microphone opens. In a venue or a place of worship it removes a job the operator would otherwise do by hand many times in an evening. Auto-leveler is also built in.
