Dual Concentric, and why it matters on a desk

In a conventional monitor the tweeter sits above the woofer, so the sound from each arrives from a slightly different place and the tonal balance shifts as the listener moves. Tannoy's Dual Concentric driver mounts the tweeter in the centre of the woofer, so all frequencies come from one point.

That point source behaviour keeps the stereo image stable in the small, close listening positions where nearfield monitors are used.
