The Steinberg UR12B PS Podcast Starter Pack puts the UR12B interface with a D-PRE microphone preamp together with an ST-M01 condenser microphone, a pop screen, a tabletop stand and a microphone cable, plus WaveLab Cast software.
Everything for one voice
A podcast needs a microphone, something to hold it, a way to stop plosives and a clean preamp. This pack supplies all four. The ST-M01 condenser sits on the tabletop stand, the pop screen stops the bursts of air from p and b sounds, and the cable connects it to the interface.
The interface
The UR12B uses Steinberg's D-PRE Class-A microphone preamp and records at up to 24 bit and 192 kHz. It works with Mac, PC and iPad.
Software built for spoken audio
WaveLab Cast is Steinberg's software for producing audio for social media and podcasts. It handles recording, editing and loudness preparation for publishing, which is the part of podcast production that general music software makes more difficult than it needs to be.
