Samson QH4 4-Channel Headphone Amplifier

The Samson QH4 is a 4-channel stereo headphone amplifier delivering 564 mW per channel into headphones from 16 to 600 ohms, with an independent volume control on each output and 122 dB of dynamic range.

Four people, four volumes

An interface usually has one or two headphone outputs. The QH4 turns one feed into four independent headphone channels, each with its own volume, so a band can track together and every player sets their own level.

At 564 mW per channel it drives studio headphones up to 600 ohms loud and clean, including high impedance models that an interface output struggles with.

Inputs

Two balanced 1/4 inch inputs take a stereo feed from an interface or mixer. A stereo 1/8 inch auxiliary input adds a phone or other source, useful for playing a reference track or a click into the mix.

Performance

The noise floor is -114 dBu unweighted over a 22 kHz bandwidth, dynamic range is 122 dB, and frequency response runs from 17 Hz to 47 kHz at -3 dB. The amplifier adds nothing audible to what the interface sends it.
