The Roland A-300PRO-R is a 32 key MIDI controller with velocity and channel aftertouch, eight pads, nine knobs, nine sliders and a backlit LCD, powered from USB or a 9 V adapter, weighing 2.9 kg.

Compact, but a full control surface

Thirty two keys keep the A-300PRO-R small enough for a desk or a gig bag, while nine sliders, nine knobs and eight dynamic pads give it more hands on control than most larger keyboards. The sliders cover a mixer's worth of channel levels, and the pads handle drums and clip triggering.

Playing controls

The keys respond to velocity and to channel aftertouch, so pressing into a held note can open a filter or add vibrato. A pitch bend and modulation lever, a hold pedal jack and an expression pedal jack complete the playing controls. A 16 character, 2 line backlit LCD shows settings.

Connections and size

USB connects to a computer and powers the unit, drawing 300 mA, or a 9 V adapter powers it for standalone use. Five pin MIDI in and out connect hardware synths. The controller measures 605.9 x 250.8 x 91.4 mm.
