Description
The Rode Wireless ME TX is the transmitter for the Rode Wireless ME system, with a built-in omnidirectional microphone, a 3.5 mm TRS input for an external lavalier, Series IV 2.4 GHz transmission over 100 m and up to 7 hours of battery.
What this is, and what it needs
This is the transmitter only. It works with the receiver from a Rode Wireless ME system. Buy it to add a second person to an existing Wireless ME kit, or to replace a lost transmitter.
Microphone and gain
The transmitter carries its own omnidirectional microphone, so it clips to a collar and records immediately. A 3.5 mm TRS input takes an external lavalier microphone or a VideoMic when a less visible or more directional microphone is wanted.
GainAssist adjusts the level automatically as the speaker gets louder or quieter, which keeps a recording usable without anyone monitoring it.
Range and battery
Series IV 2.4 GHz digital transmission reaches more than 100 m line of sight. The built-in lithium ion battery charges over 5 V USB and runs for up to 7 hours.
