RME M-32 DA Pro II AVB + MADI 32-Channel D/A Converter

The RME M-32 DA Pro II takes 32 channels off MADI or AVB and turns them back into analog on D-sub connectors, at 119.8 dBA and THD+N below -111 dB. It is the output half of a 32 channel network node.

Thirty two outputs, switchable per channel

The 32 analog outputs sit on 25 pin D-sub connectors. Each channel's maximum level is set independently at +24, +19 or +13 dBu at 0 dBFS, which matters when the same converter drives amplifiers at one level and a monitor path at another.

The DA stage measures 119.8 dBA signal to noise at 24 dBu, and its THD+N figure of below -111 dB is the tighter of the two directions in the M-32 Pro II range. Sample rates reach 192 kHz.

Network and MADI

Two 1 GigE AVB ports carry four streams of 4, 8, 12 or 16 channels each. MADI is on coaxial, with optical available through the optional SFP module, up to 128 channels. Word clock is on BNC. There is no ADAT on this model.

Installation features

Two monitored, fully redundant internal power supplies keep the outputs alive through a supply failure. A 2 inch display with a control knob handles the front panel, and remote control runs over HTTP with a JSON API. The enclosure is 19 inch, one height unit.

Pairing it

The M-32 DA Pro II is normally bought alongside the M-32 AD Pro II, giving 32 channels in each direction over the same network. If the plant runs Dante rather than AVB, order the M-32 DA Pro II-D instead, which carries up to 64 Dante channels on two redundant ports.
