PreSonus AudioBox Go 2x2 USB-C Audio Interface

The PreSonus AudioBox GO is a 2x2 USB-C audio interface with one XMAX-L microphone preamp offering 50 dB of gain and 48 V phantom power, one instrument input, two balanced outputs and 24 bit, 96 kHz recording. It is bus powered.

One microphone, one instrument, no power supply

The inputs are one XLR microphone and line combo and one 1/4 inch TS instrument input, so a microphone and a guitar connect at the same time. Outputs are two balanced 1/4 inch TRS mains plus a 1/4 inch stereo headphone output.

The interface runs entirely from the USB-C connection over USB 2.0, with no external supply, which is what makes it a genuinely portable recording setup rather than one that needs a socket.

The preamp

The XMAX-L preamp gives 50 dB of adjustable gain with switchable 48 V phantom power at +48 VDC, plus or minus 2 VDC. Fifty decibels covers condensers and most dynamics comfortably; a very low output ribbon or a passive dynamic on a quiet source may want more.

Recording and playback run at 24 bit and 96 kHz.

Zero latency monitoring

A mix control blends the inputs against computer playback, so a performer hears themselves directly from the interface rather than after a round trip through the computer. That direct path is what removes the delay singers find impossible to work against.

The bundle includes a six month trial of Fender Studio Pro along with the Universal Control software.
