Moog Sound Studio: Subharmonicon, DFAM, and Mother-32 Synthesizer

The Moog Sound Studio with Mother-32, DFAM and Subharmonicon brings Moog's three semi-modular analog synthesizers together with a 3-tier rack, an audio mixer and power distribution hub, patch cables and learning material.

Three instruments that cover three jobs

Mother-32 is the melodic voice: one oscillator from 8 Hz to 8 kHz with saw and pulse waves, a filter with low and high pass modes, a 13 note keypad and a sequencer storing 64 sequences of up to 32 steps. DFAM is the percussion voice: two oscillators, noise, and an 8 step sequencer with separate pitch and velocity tracks. Subharmonicon is the polyrhythm engine: two oscillators, each with two sub oscillators tunable to divisions from 1/1 to 1/16, a Moog low pass filter and a layered clock generator.

Together they form a complete patchable studio: melody, rhythm and harmonic texture, all driven from each other's clocks.

Semi-modular means it works before any patching

Each synthesizer is wired internally so it makes sound straight away. The patch points override those internal connections. Mother-32 and Subharmonicon each have 32 patch points and DFAM has 24, so the three can clock, sequence and modulate one another.

What is in the bundle

The three synthesizers, an audio mixer that also distributes power, a 3-tier rack kit with a matching protective cover, patch cables and a cable organiser, guided exercises and patches, a card game for generating new patches, and custom artwork.

The mixer is the practical piece: three synthesizers into one stereo output without an external mixer. Two smaller Sound Studio bundles exist, pairing DFAM with Subharmonicon or Mother-32 with DFAM.
