The Mackie CR4X (CR4-X) is a pair of 4 inch multimedia monitors with polypropylene coated woofers and 0.75 inch ferrofluid cooled silk dome tweeters, 50 W, covering 65 Hz to 20 kHz and reaching 100 dB.
The inch that matters
Moving from the CR3-X to the CR4-X takes the low end from 80 Hz to 65 Hz and raises maximum level to 100 dB. That extra reach brings bass guitar and the body of a kick drum back into the picture, which makes the CR4-X the more useful pair for music rather than only speech and video.
Drivers
The 4 inch woofers are polypropylene coated. The 0.75 inch silk dome tweeters are ferrofluid cooled, which keeps the voice coil stable when the monitors are driven hard for long periods.
Inputs and weight
Inputs are unbalanced RCA or balanced and unbalanced TRS, so the pair connects to an interface or a laptop. The two monitors together weigh 4.6 kg. This listing is the standard CR4-X, without Bluetooth.
