What the 3.5 inch woofer can and cannot do

Response starts at 80 Hz. A 3.5 inch driver cannot move enough air to reach lower, so kick weight and sub bass will not be there. For a desk in a small room, for gaming, for editing video or for producing where a larger pair will not fit, that is an acceptable trade and the honest way to buy this speaker.

If low end matters, the BX4 reaches 69 Hz on a 4.5 inch woofer and the BX5 D3 reaches 52 Hz on a 5 inch. Those are the steps up, and each one costs desk space.

Connections

An RCA stereo pair, two 1/4 inch TRS inputs and a 1/8 inch stereo auxiliary input are fitted, so a computer, an interface and a phone can all stay connected. A 1/8 inch stereo headphone output sits on the front along with the volume control, which means no reaching behind the speaker to plug in headphones.

Room adjustment

High-EQ and Low-EQ controls trim the response to the room, and a left/right active speaker position switch tells the pair which side each cabinet is on. Each speaker measures 5.5 x 5.7 x 8.2 inches and weighs 7.39 lbs.
