Description
The LaCie Rugged Secure 2TB is a portable hard drive with AES-256 hardware encryption and password protection, built to survive 1.22 metre drops and a one ton crush, connecting over USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C at up to 130 MB/s.
Hardware encryption, not software
AES-256 encryption runs on the drive itself, so the data stays locked without relying on software on the computer. Without the password, the contents are unreadable, which matters when the drive travels with client masters, unreleased material or confidential footage.
Forgotten passwords cannot be recovered by design. Record the password somewhere safe before filling the drive.
Rugged construction
The drive survives a fall from 1.22 metres and the weight of a one ton vehicle, in the same rugged format as LaCie's standard Rugged range.
Connection
USB 3.1 Gen 1 on a Type-C connector, at up to 130 MB/s. For more capacity without encryption, the standard LaCie Rugged comes in 2, 4 and 5 TB.
