The LaCie 5TB Rugged is the largest capacity of LaCie's portable rugged hard drive, rated to survive 1.2 metre drops, a one ton vehicle and rain, connecting over USB-C at up to 130 MB/s.

Five terabytes that can be dropped

5 TB is enough for a long location shoot or a full sample library, in a drive built to be carried. It survives a fall from 1.2 metres, being run over by a one ton vehicle, and rain and splashes. It is not rated for submersion.

Connection and speed

USB-C connection at up to 130 MB/s, with a USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB-A cable in the box, so it plugs into current and older computers directly.

130 MB/s is suited to storage and backup rather than playback of large multitrack sessions. For a working drive, the d2 Professional desktop drive runs at 7200 RPM.

Software

LaCie Toolkit handles scheduled backups and optional folder level encryption. The Rescue data recovery service is available for the range in supported countries.
