Description
The Hawk SMSG005 is a 1.5 metre Gold Series balanced cable with 1/4 inch TRS male plugs at both ends, oxygen-free copper conductors and an oxygen-free copper spiral shield.
TRS to TRS, and why that matters
Both plugs are TRS, tip, ring and sleeve, so the cable carries a balanced signal from a balanced jack output to a balanced jack input. Typical uses are an interface feeding monitors with jack inputs, or patching a compressor or equaliser into a mixer.
It does not suit a guitar or other unbalanced instrument. Those use TS plugs, and a TRS cable gains nothing on that connection.
Construction
The conductors are oxygen-free copper, and the oxygen-free copper spiral shield rejects electromagnetic and radio frequency interference while keeping the cable flexible. The jacket is black.
A cable tie comes with it, and Hawk warranties the cable for one year against manufacturing defects.
Length
At 1.5 metres (5 ft) this suits connections within a desk or a rack. For a longer reach, the SMSG010 is the same cable at 3 metres. For an XLR input rather than a jack input, use the SXSG series, which has a TRS plug at one end and an XLR male at the other.
