Genelec 8330A SAM Series 5" 2-Way 100W Active Studio Monitor

The Genelec 8330A is a SAM series 2-way active monitor with a 130 mm woofer and a 19 mm metal dome tweeter, 100 W of Class D amplification, covering 45 Hz to 23 kHz at -6 dB and flat within 1.5 dB from 58 Hz to 20 kHz.

Smart Active Monitoring

SAM monitors connect to Genelec's GLM software, which measures the room through a calibrated microphone and sets each monitor's response, level and timing for the listening position. The result is a system aligned to the room rather than a pair of monitors fighting it.

For a small room where bass response depends heavily on placement, that calibration matters more than the size of the woofer.

Response and output

Frequency response runs from 45 Hz to 23 kHz at -6 dB, and accuracy is plus or minus 1.5 dB from 58 Hz to 20 kHz. The bass amplifier delivers 50 W, and maximum short term output exceeds 104 dB SPL averaged from 100 Hz to 3 kHz.

Size

The monitor is 285 mm high, 299 mm on its Iso-Pod stand, 189 mm wide and 178 mm deep, weighing 5.5 kg. The Iso-Pod decouples it from the desk and tilts it toward the ears. The 8340A moves to a 6.5 inch woofer and reaches 38 Hz.
