18i16 is the complete portable studio hub for producers. Whether you're on the go, hopping between sessions, or recording at home, you'll always have access to two of our finest preamps, plus instrument, line, and MIDI connections for whatever the project throws your way: guitars, keys, synths, grooveboxes, or controllers. And if you're looking to expand your channel count, it's easily done with S/PDIF and ADAT.

• Instrument preamps on inputs 1 and 2
• Four additional line inputs
• Two Air preamp modes for classic console sound
• Clip Safe and Auto Gain modes
• Alt speaker switching
• MIDI, S/PDIF, and ADAT connectivity

Four of our most detailed, ultra-low-noise preamps

Plug into 18i16’s remote-controlled preamps — Scarlett’s clearest and most detailed ever, with a huge 69dB gain range to get the best from every microphone.

Auto Gain and Clip Safe

Let 18i16 handle your levels. Auto Gain sets your levels and Clip Safe keeps them in the sweet spot, automatically tweaking the gain if you’re in danger of clipping. You'll never lose a take again.

All the I/O you need

Play your instruments

Connect a guitar to 18i16’s Hi-Z inputs for an amp-like feel, plug synths and grooveboxes into the eight line inputs, or use the four line outputs for your favourite outboard gear.

Control MIDI devices

Use 18i16 as a MIDI interface to receive and send data to your favourite external MIDI-controllable equipment.

Expand your setup

Increase your channel count with up to eight additional inputs and outputs via ADAT and two via S/PDIF.

Mix your way with independent outputs

With 18i16, headphones, monitors, and line outs each get their own mix, so you can create the perfect studio setup for your speakers, the artist's headphones, or outboard gear — controllable anywhere in the studio via the Focusrite Control 2 apps.

Get that big console sound with two re-engineered Air modes

Presence mode boosts your signal’s high-end, bringing the sound to the front of the mix. Create intimate vocal recordings, capture every detail of acoustic guitars, and hear your drum overheads shimmer.

Presence and Harmonic Drive mode boosts mid-range harmonics in your sound, making its unique character shine through the mix. Try it on guitars, vocals, or anything else that needs a little more punch.

Huge 122dB dynamic range for incredible recordings

Scarlett delivers incredible audio quality, with converters direct from our flagship RedNet interfaces — as found in high-end studios around the world.

Powerful sound, powerful control

Two custom-designed headphone amps deliver clear, powerful sound for high-impedance headphones, offering the best playback ever from a Scarlett.

Alt monitor switching lets you A/B your mixes between two speaker pairs — essential for studio setups with multiple monitors.
