Description
The EVE Audio EXO28 is the largest monitor in the EXO series, a 2-way active design with an 8 inch, 200 mm coated aluminium woofer and the Precision AirMotion tweeter, 280 W of Class-D amplification, covering 37 Hz to 24 kHz at up to 126 dB SPL.
Thirty seven hertz
An 8 inch woofer reaching 37 Hz puts the fundamental of almost every bass instrument inside the monitor's range rather than leaving it to be inferred from harmonics. Maximum SPL is 126 dB, measured at 1 m in half space above 100 Hz.
That capability comes with a requirement: a room able to support it. A monitor producing real energy at 37 Hz in an untreated small room will excite room modes, and the result is less accurate than a smaller monitor would have been. The EXO25 or EXO27 are the right answer for most project studios.
Drivers
The woofer is an 8 inch, 200 mm coated aluminium cone. The tweeter is the EXO Precision AirMotion driver with a Guided Directivity Control waveguide, the same unit fitted across the series, reaching 24 kHz.
Amplification is 280 W of Class-D, the same total as every other model in the range.
