The Bowers & Wilkins Px8 McLaren Edition is the flagship Px8 finished in McLaren's colours and materials. The audio platform is unchanged: 40 mm carbon cone drivers, Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX Adaptive, six microphone noise cancelling, up to 30 hours of battery.
A finish, not a different headphone
Bowers & Wilkins has partnered with McLaren for some years, and this edition carries that identity in its colours and materials. What it does not carry is a different driver, a different codec set or a different noise cancelling system. Those match the standard Px8 exactly.
Buy this one for the finish. Buy the standard Px8 if the finish is not the point.
The Px8 platform
Bespoke 40 mm carbon cone dynamic drivers sit angled in each earcup. The carbon cone is chosen for stiffness: a cone that stays rigid rather than flexing adds less distortion of its own.
Bluetooth 5.2 supports SBC, AAC, aptX Adaptive and aptX HD, giving 24 bit high resolution playback from a compatible source. aptX Adaptive shifts bitrate with conditions, which keeps the connection stable in busy radio environments.
Noise cancelling and endurance
Six microphones feed the noise cancelling system, processed digitally. Rated battery life is up to 30 hours.
The 007 Edition is the other special finish in this range, and the standard Px8 is the base model.
