Bowers & Wilkins Formation Flex Wall Bracket

The Bowers & Wilkins Formation Flex Wall Bracket is the Vogel's designed mount for the Formation Flex speaker, holding it on a wall so it sits clear of furniture and at the height the room needs.

What wall mounting achieves

The Formation Flex is a compact wireless speaker intended to be placed where it is needed: as a stereo pair in a room, as surrounds in a Formation home theatre system, or as a single speaker in a kitchen or a bedroom. Several of those positions are wall positions.

Mounting on a wall puts the speaker at ear height rather than on whatever surface happens to be available, and keeps it out of the way of the room's furniture. For surround duty in particular, a wall position behind and to the side of the listener is the correct one and a shelf rarely exists there.

Using the designed bracket

The bracket is made for the Formation Flex chassis, so the fixing points line up with the ones the cabinet was built to carry and the speaker hangs level and secure. A generic speaker bracket adapted to fit puts load on parts of the enclosure that were not designed to take it.

Plan the cable run before fixing. The Formation Flex still needs power at the mounting position, and a wall mounted speaker with a cable draped down to a floor socket undoes most of the tidiness the bracket was bought for.

Check the model

This bracket is for the Formation Flex specifically. Other Formation products use different mounts: the Formation Duo takes floor stands, and Bowers & Wilkins also lists a Wedge wall mount bracket for that speaker. Confirm which cabinet you own before ordering.
