Audix MB5050 MicroBoom

The Audix MB5050 is a MicroBoom system on a 50 inch carbon fibre boom with the M1250B cardioid condenser, clutch assembly, 25 ft shielded cable and windscreen. It is the middle length, and the one that fits most hung choir positions.

Fifty inches of reach

The 50 inch boom is the length that gets a microphone out over the front row of a choir from a mounting point at the wall or a short drop from the ceiling. It reaches further than the 24 inch MB2450 without the deflection and the visual presence of the 84 inch MB8450.

Carbon fibre keeps the arm rigid and close to invisible from the seats, which is what a hung microphone in a hall or a house of worship has to be.

M1250B performance

The supplied M1250B condenser runs 50 Hz to 19 kHz at 10 mV/Pa into 150 ohms, with maximum SPL of 140 dB or greater, equivalent noise level of 21 dBA, signal to noise of 73 dB and 119 dB of dynamic range. Its integrated preamp and RF immunity keep phone and GSM interference out of a permanently installed line.

The capsule is machined brass, 54 mm and 16 g, terminating in a 3 pin mini XLR male connector. Phantom power is 18 to 52 V.
