Product details

Designed for home audio recording, music and sound projects, professional studio applications and live performances. With a rugged all-metal construction, this side-address cardioid studio condenser microphone delivers exceptional detail and low noise.
Shock mounted and with XLR outputs, the AT2035 is equipped with a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter to remove unnecessary low-end noise. If you’re wanting to record big voices or big instruments (particularly brass and drums) the 10 dB pad helps prevent the condenser from overloading, meaning the AT2035 handles high sound pressure levels with ease.
With its high-performance specifications, the AT2035 provides an exceptional level of consistency from model to model. The AT2035 also comes equipped with a luxury, leatherette and cushioned protective pouch and a custom shock mount.

AT2035 Build Quality

Constructed with premium materials and unrivalled Japanese engineering and design, the AT2035 features a full-metal, aluminium chassis and steel mesh grille – it is built to last. The included premium, leather effect, padded zip case means you can transport the AT2035 easily, safely and confidently. The seamless simplicity of the AT2035 means all you have to do is hook up to your preamp with an XLR cable (not included) and you’re good to go.

Japanese Engineering

Like all Audio Technica microphones, the AT2035 is designed with the knowledge and expertise that comes with over half a century of Japanese audio engineering and sound design. The AT2035 is beloved by vocalists, bands, recording artists as well as podcasters, voice over professionals and online content makers.

What Are The Experts Saying?

Don’t just take our word for it. Find out why industry audio-professionals enjoy Audio-Technica AT2035 cardioid condenser microphone:
“Both the 2035 and the 2050 are built to a very high standard, and they can handle very high SPLs, so they won’t get upset being in front of loud guitar amps, wind instruments or drums “ – Sound on Sound, Paul White
“The sound of the AT2035 is excellent. A 20Hz – 20kHz frequency response ensures it’s great not only for vocals, but on a variety of instruments like acoustic and electric guitars. It’s a great choice for musos that can’t afford a zillion different mics.” – Making Music Pro, Dave Tudor

What is a Cardioid Condenser?

A Condenser microphone such as the AT2035 contains a delicate diaphragm that captures the vibrations of the sounds you’re recording. This diaphragm is so delicate that it requires powering through the XLR cable, ensuring every aspect of your instrument or voice is captured in crisp detail.
Audio-Technica cardioid microphones have heart — figuratively and literally — thanks to the shape of the sound capture area. Cardioid microphones capture what’s in front of them in a rough heart shape, from the pinnacle of sound capture at the front of the microphone to the graduated capture off to the sides. This cardioid pattern improves isolation of any desired sound source for rich and accurate recording.

Part of the Family

In comparison to the AT2020, the AT2035 captures an overall more superior sound with a flatter frequency response for clear, crisp and authentically natural audio recordings. However, if you’re looking for punchier mid-to-high range frequency responses to help recordings cut through the track, take a look at the AT2020 Cardioid Condenser.
