Tuned for speech
The Limelight is voiced for the spoken voice rather than singing. Response runs from 50 Hz to 15 kHz, focused on the range where speech intelligibility lives, which suits podcasts, broadcasts and live streams.
Hypercardioid
The hypercardioid pattern is narrower than a cardioid, picking up mostly what is directly in front and rejecting more of the room. In a shared space or an untreated room, that keeps a second speaker, a keyboard or background noise out of the recording.
The built-in pop shield and low frequency filter reduce plosives and rumble before they reach the recording.
