The Yamaha DM3 is a compact 22-channel digital mixer with a 9 inch multi-touch screen, 16 mic and line inputs and USB recording. It comes in two versions: the DM3-D, which adds Dante audio networking, and the DM3 Standard, which does not. This guide shows what they share, what Dante adds and how to choose.
Quick answer
- Live shows, studio tracking, rehearsal rooms, no network audio needed: the DM3 Standard.
- Installs, churches, venues or studios that run Dante audio over a network: the DM3-D.
Both are on the Yamaha DM3 product page. Choose the option called DM3 for the DM3-D with Dante, or DM3 Standard for the version without Dante.

What Dante adds
Dante sends many channels of digital audio over a standard network cable. If you connect stage boxes, other consoles or recording computers over a network, you need the DM3-D. If you only use the analog inputs and USB, the DM3 Standard does the same job for less.
