sE Electronics SPACE Reflection Filter

The sE Electronics SPACE is the largest Reflexion Filter, built with sE's patented multi-layer air-gap technology plus vertical bass pillars, hand-built at the sE factory and supplied with sealable sand bags for stand ballast.

Bass pillars and deeper air gaps

The SPACE adds vertical bass pillars to the multi-layer construction, which deepen the air gaps and randomise diffusion. Low frequency energy needs depth to be absorbed rather than reflected, which is why small foam shields do nothing below the lower midrange and why the SPACE is physically larger than the RF PRO and the RF-X.

sE describes the result as full bandwidth absorption, isolation and diffusion. Diffusion is the part that distinguishes it: rather than only absorbing, the surface scatters what it returns so no single reflection dominates.

Ballast is included for a reason

The package includes sealable sand bags, with the sand to be sourced locally. A filter of this size on a stand is top heavy, and a fallen microphone stand takes the microphone with it. Filling and fitting the bags before the first session is not optional.

The mounting hardware adjusts horizontally, vertically and at any angle, and locks in position, with a mic stand thread adapter supplied.

Hand-built, and where it sits

The SPACE is hand-built at the sE factory rather than mass produced. Below it, the RF PRO is the original patented design with pan and tilt hardware, and the RF-X is the four layer entry model.

Choose the SPACE when the room is the limiting factor and a permanent vocal or voiceover position is being set up. For occasional or portable use, the RF-X or RF PRO are more practical to move.
