RME M-32 AD Pro II-D Dante + MADI 32-Channel A/D Converter

The RME M-32 AD Pro II-D is the Dante version of RME's 32 channel A/D converter: 32 analog inputs on D-sub, up to 64 Dante channels over two fully redundant network ports, and MADI alongside.

Conversion

Thirty two analog inputs arrive on 25 pin D-sub connectors. Maximum level is switchable per channel at +24, +19 or +13 dBu at 0 dBFS. Signal to noise is 120.7 dBA at +24 dBu and THD+N is below -108 dB, or 0.00039 percent, at -1 dBFS. The conversion is identical to the AVB model; only the network changes.

Dante with redundancy, MADI in parallel

Two RJ45 ports carry up to 64 Dante channels with full redundancy, so a failed switch or a cut cable does not silence the inputs. Two MADI I/O are fitted, coaxial BNC plus an optional optical SFP, for up to 128 channels. Word clock is on a single BNC I/O.

Having MADI and Dante on the same converter is what lets a Dante facility feed a MADI recorder, or the reverse, without another box in the chain.

Control and power

A 2 inch display with a control knob covers local operation. Remote control runs over HTTP and JSON, with MIDI over MADI also available. Two monitored, fully redundant internal power supplies are fitted. The enclosure is a 19 inch unit of one height.

AD or DA, AVB or Dante

The M-32 AD Pro II-D takes analog in. The M-32 DA Pro II-D sends analog out, at 119.8 dBA and THD+N below -111 dB. Drop the D suffix on either and the network becomes AVB instead of Dante. Nothing else differs between them.
